Quaker Chemical Acquires G.W. Smith & Sons, Inc.

Quaker becomes a leading die casting lubricant provider in the U.S.

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --

Quaker Chemical Corporation (NYSE: KWR) announced today that it has acquired G.W. Smith & Sons, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of die cast lubricants ("G.W. Smith"). The acquired business has net sales of approximately $14 million.

G.W. Smith's proprietary formulations of die cast lubricants, metalworking lubricants, and machining fluids are sold through direct sales, distributors, and agents in the U.S. and internationally. G.W. Smith will operate as a stand-alone subsidiary of Quaker. Included in the transaction are G.W. Smith's commercial operations and a manufacturing operation located in Dayton, Ohio.
