DUSTGRIP(TM) TURBO not only suppresses dust, but also reduces water consumption and equipment and labor costs.

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --

Quaker Chemical (NYSE: KWR) - a global leader in process fluids - has developed an innovative, effective dust suppression system for the Mining industry. Dust is not only a health risk for mine workers, but its suppression is a continuous and costly activity for mine owners. Quaker's dust suppression product line is an effective means for the mining industry to manage resources (water) and lessen health risks and environmental concerns (dust).

DUSTGRIP(TM) TURBO is a proprietary blend of wetting agents designed to accelerate water penetration in areas where dust is a hazard. It is designed for multiple applications including mine haul roads, stockpiles and longwall mining. The product mixes easily with water and can be used with a mine's existing equipment. No post-application rinsing of equipment is needed.

DUSTGRIP(TM) TURBO reduces the total water volume consumed for dust suppression purposes. Repeated applications have a cumulative effect, thereby maintaining subsoil moisture content for long periods (depending on soil types, traffic and weather conditions).

"Miners are exposed to respirable dust on a daily basis, and DUSTGRIP(TM) TURBO helps to lessen the health impact on workers," says Harry Fortner, Quaker's Technical Director of Mining. "Dust is not only bad for workers in the mines, but it can also be a source of fuel should there be a fire or explosion in the mine. The reduction of dust is of significant value to customers."

Quaker will be showcasing this innovative dust suppression product at Longwall USA 2011 June 21st - 23rd in Pittsburgh PA. Visit quakerchem.com for more information on Quaker Chemical and its full product line offerings.
