  • Michael F. Barry

    Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President

    Michael F. Barry joined the Company in 1998. On May 13, 2009, Mr. Barry was elected as Chairman of the Board, in addition to his current position as Chief Executive Officer and President which he has held since October 2008. He first became a member of the Board in October 2008. Prior to this position, he was the Company’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director – North America, beginning January 2006. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of the steel and metalworking/coatings businesses throughout North America, including two subsidiaries, AC Products, Inc. and Epmar Corporation. Mr. Barry was named Senior Vice President and Global Industry Leader – Metalworking and Coatings in July 2005 with responsibility for the Company’s global metalworking and coatings businesses through December 2005. From January 2004 through June 2005, he held the position of Vice President and Global Industry Leader – Industrial Metalworking and Coatings and, from 1998 through August 2004, he held the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

    Mr. Barry joined Quaker from Lyondell (formerly Arco Chemical) where he was Business Director for its Americas urethanes business and also held various finance and line management positions. In addition to graduating from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, he earned a Master's Degree with Distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

    Mr. Barry also serves as a Director of Rogers Corporation, a global technology leader in the development and manufacture of high performance, specialty-material-based products for applications in diverse markets. In addition, Mr. Barry is on the Board of Trustees of The Franklin Institute, one of the oldest and most respected science museums in the country located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    • D. Jeffry Benoliel

      Vice President and Global Leader – Metalworking, Can and Mining

      D. Jeffry Benoliel began his career with Quaker in 1995. Effective May 1, 2014, Mr. Benoliel assumed responsibility for the Corporation's global Mining business, in addition to serving as Vice President and Global Leader - Metalworking and Can since July 2013, with responsibility for developing and driving Quaker's global metalworking and can strategies. From 1998 through March 2015, he also served as Corporate Secretary of the Company. From June 2011 through June 2013, Mr. Benoliel held the position of Vice President - Global Metalworking and Fluid Power and Corporate Secretary and until March 2012 also held the position of General Counsel to which he was elected in January 2001. He served as Vice President - Global Strategy, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from October 2008 until June 2011; Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel from January 2001 through September 2008; and was elected Secretary in May 1998, in addition to his role as Director, Corporate Legal Affairs from May 1996 through December 2000.

      Before joining Quaker, Mr. Benoliel was a partner at Fox, Rothschild, O'Brien & Frankel, LLP, a prominent law firm in Philadelphia, handling corporate transactions including commercial lending, securities, and general corporate matters. He holds a JD from Boston University School of Law and a BA from Hobart College.

      • Joseph A. Berquist

        Vice President and Managing Director – North America

        Joseph A. Berquist joined the Company in 1997. Mr. Berquist was named to the position of Vice President and Managing Director – North America, effective April 1, 2010. In this role, he is responsible for providing overall leadership to the North American organization. Since late 2008, he held the position of Senior Director – Commercial, North America, and from 2007 until October 2008, served as Industry Business Director – Metalworking/Fluid Power. Prior to that time, Mr. Berquist held a regional sales manager position and other key roles across Quaker’s Steel, Metalworking and Fluid Power businesses, starting his career with Quaker as a technical service specialist.

        Prior to joining Quaker, Mr. Berquist held a technical manager position at AK Steel in Middletown, Ohio. He holds a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Youngstown State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

        • Ronald S. Ettinger

          Vice President - Human Resources

          Ronald S. Ettinger joined the Company in 2002. Mr. Ettinger was named to the position of Vice President - Human Resources, effective December 1, 2011. In this role, he is responsible for the global human resources organization which includes management of regional HR, oversight of succession planning, management development and organization development. Most recently, Mr. Ettinger served as Quaker's Director - Global Human Resources and prior to that time held the role of Director of Learning and Organization Development.

          Prior to joining Quaker, Mr. Ettinger held numerous positions as a Corporate HRD Manager and external consultant in various industries. He holds a B.S. and Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Hahnemann University and Hospital.

          • Mary Dean Hall

            Mary Dean Hall
            Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

            Mary Dean Hall joined Quaker as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective November 30, 2015. In her position, Mary is responsible for the oversight and management of all Finance, Corporate Development, Tax, Internal Audit, Risk and IR activities. She is also a member of the Management Executive Committee.

            Ms. Hall joins Quaker with a tremendous amount of experience in all relevant financial disciplines, including treasury and banking, accounting, international corporate finance, M&A, internal controls and compliance, and risk management. Most recently, Ms. Hall was the Vice President and Treasurer for Eastman Chemical Company, a global manufacturer of advanced materials, specialty chemicals, plastics and fibers. Prior to that role, she held various senior-level financial and treasury positions of increasing responsibility with Eastman since 1995. Prior to Eastman, she held financial and banking positions with Nalco Chemical and various banks, including Citibank.

            Ms. Hall holds an MBA, Finance and Accounting, from UCLA, and a BA, Management Science/Operations Research, from the University of California, San Diego.

            • Dieter Laininger

              Vice President and Managing Director – South America and Global Leader - Primary Metals
              Dieter Laininger joined Quaker in 1991. Effective January 15, 2013, Mr. Laininger was appointed Vice President and Managing Director - South America, with primary responsibility to lead, manage and grow the Company's regional business in South America. In addition, he continues to serve as Vice President and Global Leader - Primary Metals, a position which he assumed in June 2011, with responsibility for developing and driving the Company's global Steel strategies. Prior to his global roles, Mr. Laininger held a number of managerial positions within the Company's EMEA Region, including Industry Business Manager for Steel and Metalworking since 2005; Regional Industry Manager, Steel from 2000 until 2005; and, prior to that, Sales and Key Account Manager, Steel.
              • Jan F. Nieman

                Vice President and Global Leader – Grease and Fluid Power, Global Strategy and Marketing

                Jan F. Nieman began his career with the Company in 1992. Effective May 1, 2014, Mr. Nieman assumed oversight responsibility for the Corporation's global Marketing function in addition to his position as Vice President and Global Leader - Grease and Fluid Power, a position he has held since August 2013, driving the grease and fluid power strategies for the Company. He also had responsibility for the Company's global Mining business from August 2013 through April 2014. Mr. Nieman served as Vice President and Managing Director - Asia/Pacific from February 2005 through July 2013, with responsibility for the Company's business expansion in the Asia/Pacific region, including the development of the Company's joint ventures in that part of the world.

                Prior to his current position, Mr. Nieman was Global Business Unit Manager for the indirect sales channel (Value Added Representatives) and the Company’s two-piece Can Division. In addition, during his career with the Company, he has held various positions within the R&D and marketing areas.

                • Wilbert Platzer

                  President and Managing Director - EMEA
                  Wilbert Platzer joined the Company in 1995. Mr. Platzer assumed his current position in January 2006 as the Company shifted its organization from a global business unit structure to a regional business unit structure. With this change, Mr. Platzer is currently responsible for all aspects of the steel and metalworking businesses throughout Europe. Mr. Platzer was named Vice President – Global Industrial Metalworking in July 2005 with responsibility for the Company’s global industrial metalworking, VAR, tube and pipe and can businesses through December 2005. From January 2001 through June 2005, he held the position of Vice President – Worldwide Operations overseeing the Company’s global manufacturing, purchasing, quality, logistics, health, safety and environmental activities. Prior to that, he was Managing Director and Director of Operations for the Company’s European business.
                  • Adrian Steeples

                    Adrian Steeples
                    Vice President and Managing Director - Asia/Pacific

                    Adrian Steeples joined Quaker in 2010. He assumed his current position as Vice President and Managing Director – Asia/Pacific on July 1, 2013. His responsibilities include management of Quaker’s China and SEA operations, as well as joint venture relationships in Australia, Japan and India. Before his current assignment, Mr. Steeples held the position of Industry Business Director for Metalworking from March 2011 through June 2013, and Manager, European and Global Special Projects from May 2010 through February 2011. Prior to joining Quaker, he worked for the BP Group for 23 years, most recently serving as the BP/Castrol European & Asian Pacific Sales Director in Industrial Lubricants and Services during 2009 and European Performance Unit Leader Industrial Lubes and Services from 2002 through 2008.

                    • Robert T. Traub

                      Robert Traub
                      Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

                      Robert T. Traub began his career with Quaker in 2000. Effective April 1, 2015, he was named Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Traub has served as the Corporation’s General Counsel since March 2012, with increasing responsibilities in securities, compliance and disclosure areas, as well as providing and overseeing legal advice and the legal function on a global basis. He has also served as Director of Global Corporate Compliance since January 2009, a role he continues to hold in his new position. In January 2009, he was named Assistant General Counsel, after having served as Senior Counsel since August 2000 when he joined Quaker.

                      Before joining Quaker, Mr. Traub worked for Penske Truck Leasing as business counsel for Penske’s corporate practice, including sales and lease agreements, litigation, acquisitions, creditors’ rights and environmental matters. He possesses a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law and a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.
